Interview with Store Manager at DKNY, Manchester

  • How invaluable do you think social media is to a brand?  Digitalisation is clearly the direction every brand is going in and without social media platforms, there would be no brand therefore I believe social media is very important to any brand whether it is Primark or Prada! Whatever your competitors are doing, you’ve got to be one step ahead.

  • Which social platform do you think works best for our consumers here at Manchester?  Our customer is not 20-something-year’s old, they would probably connect with our brand via Facebook or Twitter however many of our ladies live busy lifestyles and are often mobile therefore they connect with DKNY via email only. They will, of course, also receive post promoting current happenings in our store.

  • Which social platform do you think works best for the brand?  I’m not a massive Facebook fan but I do believe they have a significant following so probably Facebook however the DKNY PR Girl is favoured for her personality which shines through on her various social platforms.

  • What is your opinion of Aliza Licht, DKNY’s PR Girl? As I said, I’m not a huge follower of social media but through New York conferences I have heard so many great things about Aliza Licht. She knows her stuff and from what I can see she is uber professional and works efficiency with her team. She could perhaps tweet more about our brand rather than chatting so much. It could give us a bad name.

  • Have you ever read DKNY PR Girl’s blog?  If so do you agree that this should be linked to the official website? I have not read the blog, in fact I did not realise she had one. That’s slightly embarrassing! But yes I totally agree. If Aliza Licht’s blog was displayed somewhere on the website, which I view daily when dealing with customers, I would immediately have an excuse to have a look at the blog. Our target market is young and blogs are young so this should be integrated.

  • How would you improve the website if given the opportunity?  I love our fabulous new website but the one thing I would change is how it views on an iPad. The composition needs to be improved.
